CUSTOM CHROME STORY

It all started in a motorcycle shop, behind a two-car garage on West San Carlos Street in San Jose, California. Four friends noticed that a growing number of motorcycle owners wanted to personalize their bikes by customizing them. To meet the needs of these customers, the four opened a motorcycle accessory store, Coast Cycles, in a retail space adjacent to the garage. It soon became apparent that few quality off-the-shelf products were available.

So in 1970 Coast Cycles changed its name to Custom Chrome, Inc. and began to seek out manufacturers of custom parts and accessories, collaborating with them to build unique new items to Custom Chromes specifications. Soon, motorcycle dealers around the country discovered the unique and growing line of custom parts and accessories available from Custom Chrome® and we evolved into a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of aftermarket products for Harley-Davidson ® motorcycles. Comprehensive catalogs followed along with the need for larger warehousing, distribution, and product development facilities.

Today, Custom Chrome® is the worlds largest independent supplier of aftermarket parts and accessories for Harley-Davidson ® motorcycles, distributing our own products, many of which are offered under the brand names of RevTech®, Premium®, Dyno Power®, Santee™, Regency™, Chrome Gear™ and C.C. Rider®.

We also distribute other manufacturers products under their respective brand names. Custom Chrome® has always been able to satisfy the marketplace with unique and innovative product designs that rely upon an intensive research and development effort by our in-house staff of engineers and product specialists. We also rely on the services of designers like John Reed, Rick Doss, Paul Yaffe, and Dave Perewitz.
